Big Picture

Pollution is big problem in today's world. The pollution problem isn't only in Asia, but around the world; from westerized countries to developing countries, all are suffering from some form of pollution. Some major causes of pollution are caused by car emissions, industrialization, chemicals, overpopulation, and the overuse of non-biodegradable products in some areas.

Background




Over the past 50 or so years, Japan (Tokyo) has been trying to push the development of their country. They weren't worrying about the environment; they figured that they could fix it when the time came. Recently, over the past 10 years, pollution has been a major issue in Japan with all of the factories and the increased demand for automobiles as well. Many people have filed lawsuit saying that they have obtained asthma and other lung issues because of all of the pollution from the cars. Many foreign and domestic car companies have been sued for million of dollars.

This pollution issue is occurring all over Japan. Although the main source of the problem is all of the industrial and automotive fumes coming from Tokyo, many areas and cities around it have been affected as well.
